I'm currently looking for getting a bit more sound out of my

ZX12R, but after a friend of mine bought a D&D for his ZX6R

I got a bit afraid.

What I'm looking for a a good pipe, that gives me extra hp,

more sound, but not so much sound that it will attract every

cop in a 100mi radius.

From what I have read, it seems like the Akrapovic is the 'best'

choice, and that they are not as loud as the Muzzy.

However, since we all know they we want a lot of sound, and

do not want to attract too much attantion (from cops), a

'street' sane pipe would be the way to go (+hp, +sound, but

not too much sound).

So, which pipe should I go for ? (As long as they are not as

loud as the D&D on a ZR6R I should be fine).

PS: This is a ZX12R March 2000

If you want a good price and a great pipe go with the stepped Hindle.

If you want to pay a bit more for a great pipe that looks better then go with the Akrapovic.

I would not go with the Muzzy now that the Stepped Hindle is available.

$927.00 wow, I only paid $850.00 for my race system with the Ti can, I would not suggest any other pipe Akro is the way to go for sure best sound and great hp increase, I have not seen a hindle that fits right yet and to be quite honest it has go to be one of the ugliest pipes on the market, Muzzy good pipe but not enough power increase and to much noise, Micron serpent sounds good looks good good power increase but I don't see it lasting to long I think they are cheapley made, a good pipe that sounds great great increase in power and is cheaper than the Akro is the HMF but it is kinda ugly like the hindle just my 2 cents

If sound improvement is all that you are after, the Yoshi bolt on race pipe is great ! I know that bolt ons aren't a popular choice here, but I just put one on my 12 to hold me over until I decide if I really need a new system. It cost me $260.00 to my door from pipe-city.com . Here's a pic...

It's much deeper than the OEM pipe, but not so loud that you will have a problem with the police IMHO.

Here you go Biggie.

'Chute Removal

I forgot to mention that I took a ruler and drew the cut lines with a pencil. It might not show on the pics put the cuts are smooth and straight. Also, I left about a 1/2" of plastic showing below the turn signals to keep the signals from being too 'flimsy'.
