That grenade launcher removes in about 2 minutes flat, 2 screws, four bolts. Removing the cat con takes 30 minutes.

Akrapovic (sounds like a-crop-o-vich) is one of; if not, the best exhaust systems around. The QUALITY and PERFORMANCE are well worth the money. When you're ready, go with Spencer Cycle, I did and saved alot of money. However, I wouldn't expect you to take my word for it, get pricing and then compare w/Doug @ Spencer, you'll be glad you did!

There is so much discussion on what pipe to use, which is best, etc. etc. Just like to get an overall idea of what everyone is running.

I just install an akrapovic this past weekend what a great product, it was more work to install the Muzzy blockoff [email protected]#$*#. The fit and finish of this pipe is great!!! great sound too! loud but not obnoxious.

I was in my local speedshop getting some work done to my 12 and they have an Akro full system on display. I have to admit it looks like a work of art and I too thought I should've gone with the Akro system instead of my full Muzzy but after chatting with my friend at the shop (he races a zx7 and zx6) he told me that the Muzzy was the best pipe for the 12. It consistently produced more power on the dyno than anything else. He's tried the Akro, MiG, D&D, Yosh and Muzzy. The Akro works better on the 7 and the 6. He also said the Muzzy worked better on the GSXR 1000 than the Yosh. My baby dynoed just over 180hp with 100ft-lbs of torque with Muzzy, K&Ns, PCIIIr and stock internals. That's all I need to know.

Modified stock system, featuring the world's largest titanium muffler! Ya gotta love that stock look, especially to sucker Gixxer and Busa riders into street racing. I will do the full system eventually, but for now I am Mr Stock. Wanna race?

Bogus

Should be slightly slammed and geared for the Sunday Ride.

Speednuts, I have spoken with 2 owners of Dynojet 250's and they would both disagree with your budy at the speedshop. Chris Hill in Knoxville is an authorized Dynojet Technician and owns our local Dynojet center. Chris routinely makes the statement that 99% of the time, any ZX12 will make more power with an Akro than a Muzzy. Chris also has made the statement that he has heard from multiple other Dynojet centers that the Akro makes more power than the Muzzy.

Now in reality, the Muzzy should make more than enough power for 99.9% of the members of this board. But this does not change the fact that the Akro makes more...

My DJ certified shop says the MOST h.p. they have seen out of ANY stock bike was a 2000 zx-12r running an Akro SS/CF pipe.

178.9 at Denver altitude corrected.

And to quote "These early 12's are making more HP than anyone ever expected was possible. They make some serious HP".

I was told by our local DJ center this. I have a Muzzy on my bike. He said the Akra made more horse than me, But mine rapped out quicker than the Akra thus if we was going to drag race I would probably beat him..... Just what I was told not trying to start a war. Said Akra made the ponys where as mine rapped to top faster....... Just what I was told.........

NOS,when you absolutely, positivly need to get there quick!!!!

I have no doubt the Akro makes a little more up on top than the Muzzy, 3-5 ponies I would think. Now If I can get a Full Ti Akro for 900 I will convert.

AKROPOVIC - the only way to go, K & N filters and complete removal of the Kleen air system. This should keep you broke and happy for a while.

REgarding Horsepower numbers.....Has anyone hooked up a serious fan to the front of the 12 to simulate the ram air effects on power output? Assume Blitz's results of 178 hp - that is nice but what HP numbers should the bike post with say 100 mph wind blowing into the ram air. This would be more like actual street numbers.
