It comes here fast in the high country.... 100 degree days, much cooler at night, then one day BAM, snow.

Vinnie, Nebraska, and anyone else who can make it, I am going to do one last high country ride either Sept. 14th or 21st, depending on who/what/when.

Gixxdu and I went the Hayman route (the big fire area) last weekend, and it was down right chilly until about noon.

Let me know if anyone wants to hit Trail Ridge Road one more time this year. They've already closed it twice in the last month due to snow/hail, so my native Colorado barometer is telling me the last high country ride of the year is nearing.

Two things to say.

#1 - Winter - WOOOO FREEKIN HOOOO!!! I'm sick of this blistering hot humid sweatbox of a summer! Winter is prime riding time (both street and dirt) in Houston!

#2 - Blitz, I'll give that offer much consideration! I've got a lot on my mind lately however. I have a feeling (about 50/50 chance) that my company is going to ask me to move to China for a nice 3-4 yr stint. Really will have to do some serious considering, and I may be doing some work around the house to get it ready for sale for the next few months. Shit, don't know if I'd consider going or not. Wonder how many 12's there are in China?

I can't wait for winter, its too damn hot to ride here in the summer. 90 degreees and 100% humidity all summer long, and it rains every day for 30 minutes.

Ahhhhhh, winter. I can see it now...December 5th...65 degrees...bright and sunny. Thats the typical winter forcast here from October till January. Then it really gets cold in January and February, during some of the cold spells, it will get all the way down into the 30's 2 or 3 nights out of the year and down in the 50's during the days.

Ahhh, yes... But in the winter here in Colorado we got this thing that I like to do almost as much as motorcycling.

And this is THE place to do it. Skiing. Nothing like running down a slope in the morning with the cold wind slapping you in the face while fresh snow is flying all around you.

Remember the song you hear around Christmas every year by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - "The closest thing to heaven, on this planet, anywhere, is a quiet Christmas morning in the Colorado snow"

Its so true.

Blitz....BAM away man, it's never inapropriate.
I grew up in New England and love the 4 seasons. Before motorcycling came along for me I used to live for skiing and snowmobiling. I averaged 6000 miles a winter on my sleds and atleast twice a week went skiing somewhere.
Alot of people hate the cold weather but if you dress for it, there can be alot of fun out there in the snow.
Now all I need to do is get me a winter beater bike to ride on the non snowy days.

It does suck that winter is coming but the good thing is that on the way to winter there is FALL, my favorite time of the year. The ride in to work this morning at 6:30am was perfect. The cool temperature is perfect.

Blitz ND's talking some trash talk.

Ask him if he passed me on the last ride.

17's on my 02 now, The dampened one. No more Rob passing.

Ya gotta do it Blitz before the bike's put up for the winter man. 20 buck's for an aftermarket one. You steered me right many a time's. Listen to me on this one and try it before the snow's got ya hunkered down for the winter.

I like the colder air myself. More HP and no bug's.

If Jessie Jame's had a ZX12R I'd ride with him.

Vinnie-

we could aways get them to come down our way if it gets too cold for them and you wouldnt have to travel too far either.. you need 1 really good group ride before going anyways, maybe we could go out west near Possum Kingdom Lake or ??? hmmmm and if ya need, I will be more than happy to keep your bike at my place and keep the battery charged for ya....
