Futurequest has been awesome with superfast access, but it is time to move to another server.
I have been very busy in trying to find the right combination of performance and space at a price I can afford on a regular basis.

I have a couple options that won't break the bank but I am not sure how the performance will end up at. I am assured that people will highspeed connections will be able to download as fast as they are able, which is great.

I will have a bit more bandwidth and space so the pic section will expand again and perhaps there will be room for more movies again along with the funny stuff section.

There is another option where I can go to a larger package that will allow me to resell webspace to people. Perhaps people may want webspace for their pictures etc. for posting on the forums? This package would cost more than I can deal with at this time so I would need to sell some webspace ahead of time. I think I can offer 300Mbytes of space for $10 U.S. per month with about 2GBytes of traffic per month. I would only need a few people that were interested in this space for at least a year at a time and I would be good to go.
This is not a charity thing, if you think you really need some webspace and think this is a competitive deal then let me know.

Thanks,

Easyrider

Ya know, I have been thinking about this.

Easy, why not offer a zx-12r.org "premium member" package?

We've talked about this before.

For say, $30-50 a year, you get X amount of space for pic's.

My ISP gives me 20 meg, which is good for about 15 hi-def photos. I would gladly pay a reasonable fee to just be able to host them here.

Just a thought, but I'd bet that there are at least 20-40 guys here that would go for this. Do the math, that would buy alot of disk space.

Just throwing ideas out...

I would need about 12 people at $50 per year and could give them 100MB of space with about 1GByte per month of transfer.

If 12 people want to commit in the next week then let me know. I have to make a choice quickly and one route will make it possible for this and allow for more expansion.
Spread the word.

Thanks,

Easyrider

It would be like a normal website you could point your domain to it and it would not be part of the ZX-12R.org domain. ZX-12R.org would just share on the same server.
I am trying to keep the bandwidth low to save more for ZX-12R.org. I could go to a cheaper host but the transfer speeds are not good enough for people to be happy on a regular basis. I have tested out a few hosts and only found a couple that would be adequate.
I could have about 10-15GB per month of transfer to play with outside of what the site will require.

Easy, a couple questions concerning the web hosting services.. If I already have a registered domain name could this be bundeled into your offer?? Or would everything be part of the ZX-12R.org site??
Please explain how this would work..
Also, is there any way the bandwidth could be increased?? I have found some web hosting services that will provide 100MB of space and 8 GByte of transfer per month for not much more than you are asking..
I would be happy to support your venture, but if you were just selling web space the storage cost is good.. the transfer rates aren't quits as attractive..
I might be interested in 200MB of space if we could work something out...
