Read the 3 posts you have made re clutch/ecu/cams, just easier to respond to all 3 here!

I had my '00 12 engine rebuilt using JE Piston/cylinder kit, it was done by Phil Tainton of Aust. Superbike Suzuki team (long history of race bike builds). Check his website it will show you what he can do for the 12! I had stage 2 head work, including heavy duty valves, springs etc. and Carrillo rods with new crank bearings (check "My 1287 Build" thread I made).

As far as cams go, Phil uses his own profiles, dependent on what the owners needs are (road/race etc.).

As far as clutch goes, I bought an MTC Billet clutch basket, installed myself using oem clutch fibres/steels (known to be good for most applications). I did the clutch hub modification for better oil flow as per KCScott's method. Fitted HD clutch springs.

As far as the ecu, I haven't touched it, just using a PC3 with Ignition Module - seems to work fine!

Phil Tainton ran the bike in using his dyno, which I'm told is one of the higher reading ones, so take the numbers as you will, however the main thing is the difference between before & after results - on his dyno pre-build was 183RWHP, post-build 212RWHP. Quite significant and it feels it too! I have since had it re-dynoed locally (S.A.) on a dyno known to read modestly - got 193RWHP and had the PC3 remapped as well.

So really, from my point of view, I had searched far & wide for what I needed in Aus. but ended up with Tainton. Hope this helps a bit.

Don.

Jumped on his website didn’t mention anything specific to the Zx12r I will call him Monday and ask if he still has parts available for the 12 as they are becoming older now. With the Mtc clutch where did you purchase that from ?

Directly from MTC in U.S. (mtceng.com).

Tainton has done a bit of work on the 12's, a couple of years back he had helped build a 12 for the drag strip that held the time record then for its category. I think he has details on his site. I found it hard to locate anyone in Aus. who does the type of build I had done, not like the U.S. and other places, who have Ace Performance, another company who specialises in bike builds. I had even communicated with them at the time and contemplated getting my engine sent over and built, but we both agreed that was too prohibitive cost wise.
