ZX12R fueling problems
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a 12R with a fueling problem that causes a flatspot when backing into 1st or 2nd gear corners at high revs.
After the overrun when getting onto even throttle the bike dies for a second and falls into the corner.
At low revs this does not happen only when racing.

I feel that the fuel is being shut off during heavy decel and takes a moment to restore.

Any advice please

Hmmmmmmmmm??? happychap...good question. I have never heard of this on a 12. Must be a weird feeling while full tilt and trying to hold a line.
I'll ask a mechanic friend of mine to see if it's a fuel pump prob or something else.

Cheers
Its not that I think the fuel pump is turned off.
Some systems change the fuel line pressure during decel for economy. It feels like the fuel has been made too weak during heavy decel and then when getting back on the power it has a slight flatspot
I was at Brands Hatch a few days ago and the bike was just fantastic apart for this problem

I was thinking of looking into the ECU programming side of things next

when road racing with EFI yours is not
an unusual problem

also exacerbated by the ram air
the inertia in the air box......big chop
then large acceleration...... the sensors(mass air)
dont have a chance to catch up..... get a read
on the abrupt extreme changes...

same problem the busa had when they 1st went road racing
no less very similar to the problem the
gsxr750 had.... then they went to the dual injectors
WFO hardly matters

some increase idle speed.....
reg idle speed not needed while racing

good luck

WHile I dont think its the "bank angle" sensor (some people call it a tip over sensor,) you never know. Something you may wish to consider, but dont count on it.

I had an '93 ST1100 which when really snapped into a turn sometimes would momentarily shut the engine off and the resolve itself...felt like fuel starvation to a degree. Turned out Honda had a recall on the bank angle sensor.

FWIW
