HELP!! 1970 A1 Rebuild

Hello all, as the subject suggest I have a 1970 A1 Samurai, here's where I need the help...it fires up and starts like a charm, but after idling running for 5 mins, it shuts off, I know the battery is weak, could this be causing my problems?
Thanks for any help anyone can give!!

I would recommend going to www.kawi2strokes.com The new Kawasaki Triples home, there are a lot of knowledgeable people over there on classic Kawasakis.

I hate stupid people.
