Purchased Friday last week
A few issues but I'll sort them. Quick bike, but had a clutch issue that was nothing to do with the clutch!!! After fitting new clutch friction plates and it makes no difference. I think the adjustment issue is down to the aftermarket levers that touch the handlebars before disengaging the clutch fully. The lever is set with 2mm free play and this leaves a pull arc movement of about 12mm before hitting the grip of the bar! Lots of these aftermarket levers look lovely but are not well engineered, gripe over, wasted £55 and an hour swapping the friction plates to come to this conclusion. Hey Ho, that's life.

Great site you all have here. This my first ZX12R ('00 / A1) purchased from the original owner. Have been wrenching on her for a few weeks since taking possession. Nearly back on the road. Here a few pix of the bike re-assembled. 14k miles. Mods are a full titanium Muzzy and a Power Commander (and with me undoing a prior mod of removing the 17t front sprocket in place of the stock 18t). Looking forward to getting her out and seeing how she really runs soon.

Very clean. Red is a very fast color. You will want that 17 counter. Get a speedo healer if you want the meter accurate. That little sprocket is a better mod than the muzzys and power commander.

Two points of issue...
1. The 17t sprocket does make a good change to how the bike responds from down low, especially from slow corners (on a track it really helps).
2. Red...Really?? Now a good Silver will improve overall performance!
Jokes aside, nice bike you have 71Rcode.
Don.

Thanks for your kind words, gents. And Don, that silver is a fantastic color. The 17t may go back on eventually, but I want to ride it with the original gearing for a bit first. I've got no true baseline with this bike as yet to truly ride/enjoy. Final challenge is a nagging brake issue I must first solve. I'll post the question below to see what the experts say.
BTW, I fixed the brake issue. The rear master cylinder return port was gunked up. Disassembly, thorough cleaning with brake cleaner, a .010" high-E guitar string and compressed air did the trick.

Nissin 4-pots added and built a new tail this winter. Finally got that annoying 2-2,5k rpm bogging mapped.
