ZX-12R vs ZX-14 flat out....stock vs stock...anyone?

Considering all the hoopala thats been going on the last few days, not to mention the disappointing withdrawl by another party I started really thinking about these 2 bikes running head to head for about 2 miles to squeeze out peak mph.

We'd need 2 parties (I'd happily volunteer for one)
Riders will both swap bikes during back to back runs
GPS units
Cameras
2 TRUE SHOWROOM stock bikes, ZX-12 and ZX-14
Both allowed to deristrict as needed.
No other modifications allowed.

I'm truely interested if the peakier 12R will squeak out more MPH than the brute 14. The run should be very close in the MPH department.

I'm talking as = as possible...same oil level in the sight window...same fuel from the same pump filled to the brim, clean stock air filters....no tricks, even same weight and brand oil if possible. The only question would be tire selection....put them both on the same rear tire or have the 12R sit on the 200 rear?

What do you guys think?

What are some feasible options for testing grounds....the 9/10ths....extended run?

Anyone have a truely stock ZX-14 or ZX-12R?

Riders...any volunteers? If rider size is an issue I think Almost Les is a few pounds heavier than me....we can try and equalize the weight of both by the time we run, I have no problem with that.

Lets keep the comments and replies clean and on topic.

A.

Good luck finding a bone stock ZX-12R with low mileage!! lol

Keep in mind that most 12's these days have seen their fair share of roads, which will dog out an engine. I'd think you'd find most stock 14's have low mileage and thus... fresh strong engines.

Just a variable to take into consideration, if you want to get "technical". Even at 10k miles you'll find leakdown results to be "less than desireable".

Depending on which way I sway, I might be a candidate for this. Won't be till spring maybe but if no one takes the offer, I am down.

04 10R - Mostly stock
SR-71 - Gone but not forgotten...

Sorry ship I know you want to keep this on point but I just found this vid by coincidence. The 1st gen Busa (which most will agree is virtually the same as the 12r) vs a 1st gen zx-14. Granted in the first vid the guy on the 14 is barely tucking but none the less, when thay swap it gives you some idea what to expect. Both bikes are pretty close to stock.

Part1

Notice how the "camera man" puts the cam down on the yellow line without informing the riders. Imagine hitting a camera at 180 mph!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a maroon!!

Part 2

Yep. Finding a bone stock 12 is like finding..., well, you know.

Not just a great barbarian, the greatest barbarian, bar none!

Why stock?

Sorry if I missed the discussion, but who cares about stock? Everyone puts at least a pipe and program on those bikes. Maybe just race two bikes that only have pipe, program... and other common mods done by the average owner such as air filter, flies removed, etc.

Half the wheels is twice the fun!

Modifications open up the door to a lot more variability creating less theoretical objectivity between the 2 in a head to head comparision.

Get my ass outta here? Hah, you're stock plummeted to Enron levels SCRUB. LOL all you got is petty insults...think I can't throw em too? Gimme a break. Go slap a GPS on your bike and report your findings back on the board....mister stopwatch. What a has been. Must suck to have been called out so hard, have lost your moderator duties and lost the respect of your peers on the board. It was all your undoing in the end...can't keep the lies going forever you know.

Lets get it on now

OK guys, it isn't really safe to drag race on the streets ya know. Bonneville Salt Flats boring and mule deer and coyotes cross the roads around Tucson---- that all would really suck going to jail or worse get hurt. So here is my idea. Lets do it right and all meet at a neutral site that we all could go and have a great time. I suggest the Arroyo-Seco Race track in Deming, New Mexico in May. All you boys need is leathers and duct tape for the lights. Hell I'll even bring the mighty bUsa.........O-MY GOD......... I mean ZX14. I think this way there are several riders on the forum that would go and ride on the track also. Great place to meet the riders on the forum and share some biker secrets. I know of a great place that serves shitty Tex-Mex food , but a great bar---( I am buying the beers) . The Stripper fishing is great over at Elephant Butte ,and so are the ladies on jet ski's ,( i'm buying beers for that also) so we could do that to. Be a great weekend, safe, nobody gets hurt, and we all have a great time. Just great harmony and love among us all. Oh----and I'll be bringing my 45 Glock 21 just in case you two riders piss me off at the track. Deming,Mexico.....think about it.
