A good place to start. You like to leave hard. You'll want to do a search on clutch baskets.

REALLY????????

You really want to chance throwing tiny bits of aluminum through your engine, becasue you don't want to spend the money now??

Sorry man, but do a search.......

Google: ZX12 blown clutch basket

If that isn't enough to make you look for a billet one, you either have bigger balls then me or arn't too smart.

Its not the fact of if it'll happen, its when. And high rpm, or drag style launches have proven to be the cause time and time again. Both of which you know your doing. Save yourself some time and grief man.

basket, and hub, or you can drill your stock hub for better oiling.
And you can check your fibers and steels while your there.

There's a fuse in Ur battery box that controls the fans and headlights...the connector on mine melted...check it out, if it is then replace with a 10a inline fuse

You have to remove the negative cable, unconnect the two white harnesses and the starter cable that bolts to the side of the box then it should all slide out...remove the cover that is next to the battery, if u have a melted connector it will be visible...if its not melted check the fuse, while your in there check the condition of all the fuses but it's not hard to find, it should be mounted in a foam block.

The absolute truth, Lexx. I wouldn't have mentioned it otherwise. Our bikes are 12 years old, and a lot of issues have been identified since then. This is a major one. Those engines are getting hard to find, and a repair after the basket blows would be very expensive and most likely would not return the engine to its pre-damage condition.

To dragrace or wheelie this bike you MUST upgrade the basket or you WILL have a pretty lawn ornament. Expect to pay $400 to $600 ......
