I've sort of decided I can't part my 12 that easily, so I'm gonna see if I can run the engine without problems and make it whole again. Since all my cowling is damaged my eyes have fallen on cowling sets from Ebay. Anyone has experience with those?
I also have to straighten my front forks, they're both bend.. And since it's a 2003 model it has a nice brownish tint to it which isn't that easy to find second hand. They're all bare metal colour. Also both the T and upper yolk have to be replaced as well as the clock.
Fortunately, I have neither wife or girlfriend so I can burn all my money on my bike.

@rmk

I bought Auctmarts fairings for my 12. You can read about my experience with them under my recent post, Phoenix Rising. It's still on the front page of all threads.

Tuned suspension early this morning. Went for a ride through the metro. Came back and tested out a new tire pump. One of the front reflectors previously fell off . I had ordered one earlier in the week if that shows up that'll go on today.

That does look great and gives me hope the set I have in mind will fit similarly with some elbow grease. Thanks!

I got the engine running again, there was still some water left in the exhaust pipes choking a start but with some brakecleaner up into the airfilter it fired up and spit all the water out.
Here's hoping on a smooth repair.

I went with a complete bodywork set from Ebay, including a tank cover and bolt kit. I figured the shipping cost would be too much ordering from Auctmart.

Now waiting on a reply on the order of a front end on Ebay. My bike should be whole again in not more than 30 days when all parts are in.

good to see you are "getting the band back together" what paint scheme are you going with for your fairing or are you going with stock colours.
there is a set of forks on eBay Australia included is the bottom clamp, this set has the radial brake mounts but are a bit pricy and shipping would be unreasonable here is the link good luck Craig

All the bodywork I came across seem to have a metallic flake green which I don't want so I'm going with a black set. I might touch it up with green wrapping/details to break it up. I think it'll look great nonetheless with my green rims.

Over here it varies state to state. Which I find odd after having learned to drive in a state that required it. I assumed it was a uniform standard across the country. Can't say I miss it, but in place of that we have auto emissions testing but again not required for motorcycles. I imagine there must be a lot of clean running bikes -at least with stock emissions- there. Here it's loud and proud with some of the larger metros and suburb towns making it an expensive offensive.
