Neutral light flickering...?

Hi all
So my Neutral light flickers on and off from time to time while riding - seems to be worse when the weather is wet/damp. Is this common, or do you think its something to worry about? I have done a quick search but can't find any common threads about it......any ideas?

Could be the N switch. Not exactly sure where that switch is.

As strange as this sounds I had a similar problem on my zx9 and its was the clutch lever switch, is it happening only while changing gear with the clutch lever?

For Tech Questions Bike Model letters and Country are more useful than saying the year, for UK owners anyway, as registration year is not always the year of manufacturer model.

OK I've been looking at the wiring diagram and things to check first because they're easier to get to.

Clutch switch. This link shows it on a zx9 which uses 3 wires whereas the zx12 only 2 wires but it will give you a an idea what to look at.
zx-9r.net :: View topic - Clutch switch checking, cleaning and/or replacing.

There is a Diode in the system that ties into the clutch switch. This Diode is located near the junction/fuse box plugs and is a small black square item the size of a fingernail with 2 wires. It's possible its starting to break down, or poor contacts, as they say, whip it out, and refit or replace it if its checks out faulty.

I don't think it could be the sidestand switch, but it is linked to that part of the system. Here is a link to the zx9 one , again very similar.

Lastly it, it could be an intermittent short on the light green neutral wire. Anywhere from above the front sprocket cover, to the ECU under the back seat, or to the clocks at the front.
