Kawasaki Gear Position Indicator

Received an email from Kawasaki and in their online catalogue they list a GEAR INDICATOR; has anybody fitted one of these to their own ZX12r ? States it is for fuel injection models and is simply plug and play and costs 105. Never fitted one of these accessories before. I know naff all about motorcycle diagnostics etc !!

From the online catalogue........

DESCRIPTION
Kawasaki gear position indicator is easy to install for fuel injected machines with the engine diagnostics socket, with 'plug & play' convenience your current gear is indicated while the engine is running. Full fitting instructions supplied, manufacturers warranty is not affected .

I'm pretty sure the 12 doesn't have a diagnostics socket (my 2003 certainly doesn't have one maybe the 2004-2005?), only a wire to frame fault code read-out. So I'm not sure how it would have to work on the 12.

Thanks Steve, Had a quick look....I think my shiny new Datatool 4 alarm is connected into that as well ! I'll pull off the passenger rail and rear panel in the darker nights.....to nice to have her off the road at the moment. Thanks for all the advice and also brilliant service/advice from Moore Speed Racing in Dorset.
