Does 2001 ZX9R shock fit 2001 ZX12R?

Hi Guys, does anyone know if a ZX9R shock will go straight onto a ZX12R? I’m guessing it could be made to fit but keen to know if it would be a straight swap.

The zx-12r one fits straight into the zx-9r E's so a straight swap, the yellow springs a little weaker though so you may have to crank down the mainspring by 1mm or 2mm.

For Tech Questions Bike Model letters and Country are more useful than saying the year, for UK owners anyway, as registration year is not always the year of manufacturer model.

Nice one, thanks for that. Seen a Ohlins for 9r at a good price and wanted to be sure I could fit it on my 12r before I took a chance on it

You will probably need to swap out the ohlins spring to get the best out of it, and I don't know about how the internal working for the Ohlins will work for the 12.

I’ve pushed the button and brought the shock, I’ll get it serviced and a new spring anyway as it’s set up for a 14st rider and I’m a good bit heavier than that. I’ll give some feedback here on how I get on with it once it’s on the bike.
