Wont shift to 2nd or any gear after!

I have a 02 ZX12 that will only shift down to 1st then back up to neutral but not 2nd or any gear after, that's moving or with the bike off and on in the still position. I've replaced the plates, springs, clutch cable and no luck with it. Does anyone know what's going on with it?

Worth checking first is the foot gear lever pivot point on the foot peg, any dirt in there and it won’t shift gears.

For Tech Questions Bike Model letters and Country are more useful than saying the year, for UK owners anyway, as registration year is not always the year of manufacturer model.

I've taken that off and cleaned/repositioned it and still nothing

I was thinking this but dreading to check it out. Hoping it's just something more simple

Just a quick note the front drive sprocket has to be going round before your able to shift up into second, so rotating the rear wheel should help if done quickly enough with chain and sprockets fitted.

Edit. It's a Kawasaki positive neutral finder mechanism thing.

Edit. If its an A model reference can be found at the bottom of Chapter 8 page 24 of the service manual, or if it's a B model bottom of chapter 9 page 27.
