He buddy... finally sold the 12. I rode the 14R 60 miles today. It'll take some getting used to. 14R feels like I'm sitting on top of the bike, while 12R I felt like I was in the bike (lower to ground). Had to keep it under 4,000 RPM also. Only 530 miles to go till I can go a little faster.

I drive a 1989 AscMclaren #95(225 hp)
2007 Mercury Mountaineer(320hp)
2013 Kia Optima(Turbo 275hp)
2016 Kawasaki ZX14R(180hp)

make sure the bike is nice and cold before changing those muffler bearings, it must be a 14 thing

if anything goes wrong check the battery

I like the 14. Amazing bike. Definitely different than a 12.

Awesome! I think you will like it. What year did you get? They do feel a bit different than a 12r. I missed having a street 12 so bad I went and got another one. Redsled.

Yeah, they are fairly great machines. Underappreciated, I'd say. Have fun!

Vincent Hill makes really nice swingarm spools. They have a jam nut that allows the spool to spin. High quality.
Thank you Vincent.

This 14 was involved in a crash. Had the typical rash and broken pieces. The upper fairing stay mount that is cast into the steering head hit hard enough to crack the head behind the stay and between the bearings. Stripped the front end down and my buddies went to work and welded everything up beautifully. Today I went about the task of resetting the bike.
I loosened the swingarm pivot (I already swapped a 14R arm onto it) all the engine mounting bolts. Drive chain had a ton of slack in it with the engine barely loose.
Followed the oem spec for tightening it all back up. Adjusted sag, set the chain.
Man did that make a very big difference in the manners. Very pleased.

I like the stealthy black look on it with the mirrors removed, gives it a squat, solid look!
