I want to thank Redsled for letting me pilot his bike this wknd at Loring. I had an amazing time!!! we did a few mods to the bike (2000 ZX-12R), but its a bone stock motor, Yosh pipe, pc3, internet map +6% for MR 12. Lowered. BMC air filters. Bear short stacks, crank case vent mod. Foot shifting. :crazyloco::thumbup:
heres a pic of the owner who got a best of 190.3xx, he told me his goal was 180, so as you can see he was pretty happy
I did my rookie runs sat(on 87 octane), and then got a best of 188.9xx into a 10-15 mph head wind with a slight cross. I also took a first gen 14 with a Brocks pipe, pc, MR 12 and Brocks Maxton MR 12 map for a drive(stock ride height) and got a 187.xxx. I bumped the limiter a couple times trying to shift it like a 12, so i knew it had more in it.
this morning was calm conditions slight cross winds and I got a 196.2 on the regular gas, still practicing my tuck, and working on launching a bike thats about 12-13 in shorter than mine. learning little things on each run about body position and getting better at the shifts when in full tuck, and leaning into the cross winds. I took the 14 for another run and I believe that was a 195.xxx, the owner has the slips. gave him some tips on shifting and tuck and he picked up several mph. he graciously gave us some of his MR 12 and that seemed to be the edge i needed as i wasnt quite getting clean passes, little things i knew i had to improve on. tail winds picked up slightly as the day went on and I was getting a better feel for the bike, and the added kick of the 12 got me a 198.2. next run was a little cleaner again, less blowing around side to side on the track and was a 199.766, i knew it was just about there as the tach was getting closer and closer to the limiter as i crossed the line. the next run was the cleanest run of all with very minimal cross winds, and i knew it was on a pass when the needle was just about at the 12 when i crossed the finish line! 203.694, enough for the white hat. my face hurts from smiling:thumbup: cant wait to go back in July!
