Went back to the local 1/8 th mile track to try and get into the 6's on my stock 2005. Made several 7.0x passes with LOTS of headshake. Finally got a good launch and made it though!

60 ft - 1.811
ET - 6.962
MPH - 109.52

good job...

I too just started going to the track with my 01 12. Learning to launch this bike as opposed to my last bike is a going to take some practice. I have an MTC lock up clutch on mine and it seems around 5000 rpm and then letting it slip for the first 100 ft or so is whats going to work best for me. I don't remember my 60ft., but I was only able to make 2 1/4 mile passes and ended up with a 11.3 @ 131 mph. I think the 1/8 was around 108 mph. Lots of improvement still to come at the next test and tune

4-5k is a good point IMO to launch from.

Congrats on getting on the 6s, not an "easy" feat. I did it first time out, but I weigh 125

But I had the same 60 fts you did ....

.... eventually I got 1.7s....lowering and 17 tooth got me 1.6s finally.

Practice practice!

Thanks guys! I know practice is the key to lower ET's but I will probably limit my trips down the track. I like riding the bike too much on a daily basis to toast the clutch! A buddy of mine got a 6.86 with a 1.77 60 ft time on his stock 03 model so I know that I can do better
