No, but if I do replace it, it will be with a BMW R1200 GS. That I've decided.

 

Yeah, the R-1 was a sweet ride, but the fun is in the replacement. Good choice for a "future bike"....An advance welcome to the Beemer ranks !

 

I replaced my 99 R1 with a ZX-12R :-D

Just found that I'd outgrown the R1 with the type of riding I do.

I too bought it brand spanking new :-O Owned it for 8 years and utterly loved it.

However, I do much more 2 up stuff now and the R1 is useless for that.

 

I had a 98 and a 04 R1, both got wrecked shortly after I sold them. The bad thing is I sold them to friend's of mine! Both made it, thank GOD!

 

Too bad you couldn't have hung onto that one. T'was a beautiful bike.

After getting laid off over a year ago, I came to the conclusion that having a unique last name that can show up in internet searches done by potential employers is not a very bright idea. So a name change. I haven't been here for over a year either. Looks a little different!

I always thought Vincent Hill was putting quite a bit out there too, LOL.

I don't mind internet acquaintances knowing my name but I don't post it for the very reason you state. I know it is pretty common for many employers to do internet searches as part of the background investigation and while I don't post anything I'm ashamed of in the least, my personal life is none of my employers business IMO.

Ahhh, signs of the times. Big Brother is watching and you gotta stay one step ahead.

As "the other half" said we won't be joining you Westerner's this fall, but surely hope to possibly see you all in the following year!

Blitz - I also extend my thoughts of understanding/sympathy....handing over the keys (or reins) to someone else is always tough.
