49,000 miles on my Red O2.

55,000 on my now black 02 B1. The gas tank and tail piece had faded so badly.

The reason I went with black is the stock red paint required a base coat, color coat & clear coat. The paint from ColorRite is expensive $500.

I was taking a body shop class with my Son, we are restoring a 70 Mustang for his first car. They had some PPG DCC Black I could have for free. It did not require a base coat, or clear coat.

Here's a quick pic of my re-painted 12. Notice the custom seat repair. I've since then bought a yard of black vinyl at the local yardage store, and recovered the seats. Total cost 6 bucks. I still wanna get a new seat. Instead I spent the money on a 08 ZX10 shock for the rear and a Race Tech spring for the front. I also had to replace the stator and regulator. I have had problems with charging so I put in an 04 stator and regulator.
