Anyone else having problems with the muzzy ZX12 lockup? Problem seems to be that the clutch pusher is flexing, allowing the clutch release lever to slip off of the "head" of the pull shaft, then it binds and the clutch is then unusable (no "declutching" possible). This is not a problem with having too much weight or pulling the clutch in at high RPM, as it will do it at idle, even after a few seconds after the clutch pressureplate and lock-up has stopped rotating. The clutch puller is not bent, Tried different stack heghts, and even shimming the pull rod to enable different degrees of rotation for the clutch release lever, but no luck. Seems to be a design flaw / incomplete design, allowing the pusher to flex. Is the MTC clutch better? (ANYTHING would be better than this....seems to need an outer support on the pull rod or a modified clutch release lever)

Well, since I have heard of no one with a working Muzzy Lockup, I don't think simply replacing a problematic part with the same design will solve the problem. The muzzy clutch, while aparently able to be made into a functional unit by installing the throwout arm with the "proper technique" is not a fully engineered part. With so many people having problems with this $500+ part, muzzy should have addressed this issue by now with a re-design of the clutch pusher. I am a mechanical engineer, and when one of my designs are faulty, I corect the problem, or at least make an atempt. Muzzy's denies that there is a "problem" with the set-up. While I understand that this is a race part and requires great care in its use, I also know that there are other "designs" that work flawlessly without perpetual alignment and adjustment checks. I have yet to see a response from anyone who has a functioning Muzzy's lock-up, reguardless of how careful the installation is.

Where are the comments from Muzzy's?

Hmmm,
Seems a little ironic that no one from Muzy's would comment on a question about their part..... As I understand it, Muzzy's completely denies that there is a problem with the clutch and "it is just installed incorrectly" ....tell that to Coby Adams, Chip Ellis, and Rickey Gadson....You'd think they would use a muzzy's lock-up as designed if it was only an installation problem...since they are sponsored by Muzzy's... Do I sense a bit of embarassment by Muzzy's?
