Hi all thought I might let everyone know how my 10 has been treating me. The bike now has a little over 19000 km on and is still strong. I can never leave a bike standard, so these are the mods: bst rims, full Leo Vince pipe,Kawasaki race intake and exhaust cams, power commander, auto tune, quick shifter, bmc air filter and a few other cosmetic changes. I have done all the factory recalls. The one thing that I do find a little strange is when you start the bike even when she was stock standard is the way the starter motor seems to take a lot of strain when turning the motor. I have actually put a bigger battery in but that made no difference, she starts first time every time but it's just the feeling you get as she turns over slowly. I don't like the steering damper, mine is turned up full and I could do with just a little more. I have a painful high speed weave, from about 240km/h onwards, you can push with the weave but it's not much fun. I know it's the normal suspension and or sprocket alignment, I must sort it out. Other than that she is fantastic bike and I love riding her. Have any of you guys done any other mods or any small things to improve your scoots. Let us know it's always great to read about. Cheers enjoy.
High mate, great to see a well set ZX10R!! my brother has the 2012 series and have the Leo Vince muffler and mid pipe with a PC V "putting it all on his bike this weekend. Have you had someone good set up the suspension "as for the wobble" ?,i have been told that they need an Ohlins rear shock to get them 100%.Great work on what you have done and great to see someone throw a bit of coin at the new 10R! The fastest WSB in history!!!!:clap::thumbup:

Hi maximus
Thanks for the comments, I have done alot of small things on this bike, the actuall handel bars are clear anodizied but really crappy and they don't look right amongst the black switch gear, so i took them off and black anodized them.they look way better now. Tell your brother to go full system on the pipe as this really lets some more hp out.I know because i had the gp-pro leo vince plus kat eliminator.( still sitting on the shelf in the garage) The differance betwween full and slip-on is night and day, if he can rather spend the extra cash, he will not be sorry. As for the wobble I get, its the bst's, If I put my standard rims on I can run flat out,I must check that sprocket alignment. I see you ride a 12, what a fantastic machine. Cheers for now must go clean the filthy bike of mine.
Hi T Trooper
thank you for your help mate,i have BST's on my bike and have no problem other than making my bike very easy to throw into corners? I think you may have to check the alignment of the sprockets?OR check that someone has not over tightend them and stuffed the wheels?

Troop & Max, awesome! The 10 is a killer! Mean machines! Good job!
And of course Max your 12 is top! Hav you had the 10s on the dyno for some baselines? Compare after mods? The LV exhaust is badass! Loud?
I hav found that my 12 is more stabile with the stock wheels in a heavy cross wind. Over 180 I can get a wobble with the BSTs. But in light wind or good conditions the BSTs are rock solid!

Hi CMG ,my bro's 10r cranked out 180 hp at the wheel bone stock !Have not put it on a dyno with the mods (just got a map from PC for his setup) my bro's bike is the bike that was tested in "Rapid" mag! The system sounds great but not super loud like mine lol:thumbup:

very cool. 180hp !!!!!!! dam. any ECU mods in the works? track days in the near future? make sure you get some pics or vids! :crazyloco:
cmg
Our bikes do not have the ecu restricted,it has me stuffed why the US got the bike's in that state?as you would be the biggest in marketing.:puzzled::thumbup:
No tracks set as yet but getting set for a few vids in the near future,i have had 2+ roll ons with my mates s1000rr and ended up just beating him both times on the mighty 12.

Max...i hope you're not still pissed at me about our little recent squabble, cuz I dig your bike. The gold trims it out very nicely.
Real men ride black bikes cuz they scare the weak and timid. I just wish I could keep mine clean for more than ten minutes
Mate im not pissed with ya ,All's sweet!! Once you go black you never look back !!::lol: PS i know what ya mean about keeping them clean but to me its my toy so im happy to clean her after giving me a massive thrill!!!!!!:thumbup:

You have done great with the setup on checking out the sprocket Alignment , one other thing i would check is the Alignment of both the wheels. If you can get the bike perfectly straight just wrap a "string line" around the front/back wheels and see if all's sweet in that area before spending the money on a new shock .Mate to me it must have something to do with the mods ,i have had no problems with mine "other than a f*cking tool over tightening my wheel". PS have you spun the wheel with the sproket alignment tool "that you need to register"!!great job on that mate !!

I have spun the back wheel she is sweet, on my 08 zx I pulled the front forks 10mm or so out of the triple clamp and I softened my front forks high speed rebound damping about two clicks. This did help so I am going to start with the rebound damping on this bike and slowly take it from there. I will give feed back on how It goes. On another subject I have noticed the on this bike theses little japs don't finish things off properly, examples are the linkages on the back shock there are two plates and the dog bone.the plates are pressed plates they are not cleaned up after or plated just raw aluminuim (the mind boggles)the dog bone is a cut off from an extrusion and machined to take pin roller bearings but they must have used a hundred year old cut-off saw on the extrusion you can see the blade marks, this is at least anodized. The wheel alignment spacers where also cut on that same hundred year old cut-off saw. Well at least these japs give me something to do with my extra time. I took those rear suspesion plates off cleaned, polished and black anodized them, I also made new back wheel alignment spacers. Ok enough moaning , chat later cheers.
Hi mate,if it was me get a "pro" to set up the suspension for the less unsprung weight as sometimes "what you are thinking with suspension" can work out wrong.I have spent a lot of time with mine with no real results ,but thats just me !!I had a "pro" set mine up "after my failure" and it turned out perfect.
