I had my 02 ZX12R on the roadrace course yesterday for the third time this year.
As I get more and more used to it the better I like it. A little tweak here and there, because I switched from Pirelli Diablo Course III's (200/50ZR17 Rear) to some Michelin Pilot Powers (190/50ZR17 rear). I don't know if its the fact that the tires are new or if its the size change, but the turn in is alot better and the grip is at least equal if not better (I'm not exactly pushing the limits of the tires).
Later in the day as riders in my group were calling it a day, I was able to ride alot faster laps with only a rider here and there to pass. Even though the ZX is quite a bit heavier than 99% of all bikes in my group yesterday, it handles very well and can carry alot of speed throughout all of the corners just needing you to hang off of the side to get the job done. I even got my knee on the ground yesterday a few times and that really made me feel I was pushing it pretty hard.
Overall I had a great day on my ZX and look forward to doing at least one more trackday before the end of the year. Tom:crazyloco:
