So, as a few of you will know - I picked up a 2001 with 25000kms a week ago. Since then I've done about 350km 'gentle' commuting. This morning I pushed the bike slightly harder and hit the rev limiter for the first time since I bought it.
20kms later I'm parking the bike up at work and happen to notice some oil on the rear pillion footrest, which appears to be coming from the left hand side of the rear compartment (I'm sure this is where the stator oil electrical issue comes to a head).
So, the question is - if I actually do have the problem, do I risk driving 25km home this evening so I can fix it in my garage, or do I borrow some tools and try to fix it here (not easy since I'm in an office job).
Needless to say, I'll be reading the sticky on the main page in great detail at lunchtime (haven't been able to yet since I'm at work)
