The 98/99 head needs work more then the 2000 and up heads do. The 2000 and up heads have bigger valves then the 98/99, so in my opinion there is more to gain in porting/polishing the 98/99 head versus the 2000 and up head which also has a smaller combustion chamber for increased compression. D.
So its not waste of time and money. Hmm..maybe next winter some porting and polishing with new cams. Hows the gained hp/torque versus stock head?

Edit : And my nine is c2 -99 btw.
