Who out here uses Shinkos. And how do you like them. And how much did you pay for them.

I tried the mcr2 before the shinko. It would hook sometimes, sometimes it would'nt. The shinko hooks everytime. I friend of my has a 00 12r with a 40 shot and he runs 5.80's in the 1/8. Another has a 01 gsxr 750 with a 1000 motor on it and runs 6.00's. Both bike r 7 inches over. What kind of wb and hp r u talking about. The 1000 has been some low 1.40's 60'.

Question to Shinko guys: does it seem to you that -- compared to sticky race rubber that's been warmed to temperature -- it would make sense to use it for land-speed racing as well, standing mile, on account of better launch and more grip and less slippage at speed?

Or would that be true compared to a street tire, but probably or maybe not compared hot race rubber?

Thanks!

I have the NEW Ultra 3 Shinko, 190/50/17 for $130 plus S/H.
And the Shinko Stealth model 190/50/17 for $115 plus S/H.
Shinko front tires come in the Stealth and not the Ultra 3's. They are $70 plus S/H and they acome in 120/60 and 120/70/17 only.
What do you think
But I can beat any price on any tire (I Hope).

I might be able to go less if I can do a group buy.

Tried a Shinko on our 67" 200hp 12R this weekend, and wasn't impressed. It was a cold day but took a VERY long burnout to get it warm. Without the long burnout it just span, even with 7psi in it, on a track where MT tyred bikes were running 8.0s. We did get a 1.48 sixty out of it but won't be using one again.
