I have put a deposit down on a 2000 zx12 as of last weekend and am just waiting for it to be gone through, detailed and given to me. The bike has ohlins rear shock, pazzo levers, akra exhaust with powercommander. !7,000 miles on it and i plan to put much more on it. Are there any issues with this year i should be aware of besides the connector recall? Also this is NOT my first bike, Ive ridden dirtbikes for a long time, had my license for years, but it is my first sport bike. I plan on respecting it and getting used to it. Any tips or tricks on the bike would be awesome. I saw a post on here earlier today where a guy crashed 5 hours afer picking it up :banghead: O what would you pay for the bike?

Yes, it is very fast but it's not the bike that dictates how fast you go. I should have also mentioned that I began my search looking for a bike with the intention o getting a smaller bike but as I sat on six hundreds and seven fifties began to realize that I look an feel quite ridiculous being six foot two and two hundred forty pounds(have weight to lose). I found this bike to be much more comfortable at least at a sitting stand point. I am extemely excited to pick the bike up but know that I need to be very careful and I
Never going to weave like that on the highways. The roads around here would not only send you flying forty feet in front of you and the cops will be more than happy to ticket me. I appreciate all the replies and everyone reading my short essays haha

Thanks for the price info, it's gone through by the dealer and tomorrow I should know if anything is wrong with it which I doubt. The bike was clean looking when I saw it and that was before they detailed it. Obviously the outside being nice doesn't mean the engine is all set but with any used bike you take your chances I guess. I thought I saw somewhere online a gas tank issue? I'll definitely post up some picks when I pick her up.

Got the bike today after work and I am very pleased. This bike sounds mean and is everything I dreamed it would be. Getting used to it already but will definitely keep it safe. Couple questions. It seems to click quite hard when shifting from neutral to first unless I grab the clutch to the bars. Just an adjustment? Should I have a speedo healer with the after market sprocket? How don't you speed on these no matter what color!
