G'day all, now that we have sort of agreed on what RAM-AIR is, can someone smarter than me tell me why we have to small pods directly after the air intake.

The only thing I can think of is that they act like an acumulator as the air speed pulses through the system due to various intake valves opening and closing.

I can vaguely remember some car mag (sorry about the swear words,) mucking about with changing the size of these and getting different results in power gains, and when they occurred...

Maybe something to consider if we want to shift the power band around (a little bit of course.)
