I'd hardwire a charging connection into the bike. That way, when you want to take the bike out, all you have to do is unplug it

When I had my my show car ( the one I sold to buy the ZX-12) I bought this. Just plug it in and forget about it all winter. It has the ring terminal conectors so you can disconnect the pig tails. People say you can get similar things cheeper, but I would rather pay a few extra bucks for a quality product I know works. Its nice because it will charge it up fully then keep a maintenance charge on it as necessary.

It was like 60 bucks from summit racing.

More than a charger, it's the Extender.
These Battery Extenders are designed to maximize the life of a 12 volt battery. They charge a battery at a 1 amp rate until the battery is fully charged, then change to a 250 milliamp current to maintain a full charge. This prevents sulfation, the main reason for premature battery failure.
