I'm investing is a battery tender / charger this winter... would you guys remove it and store it inside while hooked up? Or does it really matter? The battery has about 300 miles on it from this summer.

More than a charger, it's the Extender.
These Battery Extenders are designed to maximize the life of a 12 volt battery. They charge a battery at a 1 amp rate until the battery is fully charged, then change to a 250 milliamp current to maintain a full charge. This prevents sulfation, the main reason for premature battery failure.
