3 spoke wheels? Maybe they are lighter?
They are lighter according to the info in the other post by Big-Ron!

Personally, I'm not out racing at the track every month or every other month for that matter. So I don't need things, i.e. fairing, windshield, tail sections in micro miniture size. Don't get me wrong, I like all the performance aspects of a bike like this 2011 ZX10R, but some aesthetics aspects like the wheels just don't do it for me. Yeah, I love the feel of a light wheel. I've rode bikes in the twisties with Marchesnis on them. When I got back on my bike with stock rims it felt like I was turning a bus. However, I want a wheel that looks good to me even if it is a little heavier. (Marchesnis look good by the way as well as light).

I want to have a fairing I can put my radar detector behind, mount my chatterbox in, or tuck my hat or sun visor behind. I want a tail section that I can put my registration, my wallet, my tire pressure gauge, a small camera, my cigars, a map, a small bottle of contact solution, and wet wipes for my helmet shield in. Not to mention my Power Commander. This is common kit in the tail section of my 06 10R, as it was on my 12R. Riding with a back pack sucks when you are sport riding.

However, I want the performance upgrades of the 2011 10Rs' Traction Control, ABS, Engine, Instrument cluster, shocks, etc....etc..

I just don't want to give up any more of the bikes physical presence. One of the thing I liked about the 12R was it's "presence."

Let's face it, my sportbike is going to be mostly ridden on the street. So I want one that has the performance of a track bike, but amenities like a little storage. Aesthetics are important to me also.

Did I mention that if I win the lottery this will all be a mute subject anyway. :runaway:

John we're brothers and I love and respect your opinion as an equal and brother, But I have to disagree with you.. The 06 / 07 has a fat ass compared to the sleek ass of the 04 / 05....
My 10R does have a fat ass compared to yours. If I remember correctly it had something to do with better aero dynamics in the wind tunnel around the rear end. I get a lot of positive comments on it from non-Kawasaki riders around here. The dual cans under the tail make it look fatter too.

I suppose the manufactures decided in 08 or so that they wouldn't have to worry about the aerodynamics for the tail if they just didn't put one back there or such a miniscule one that it wouldn't matter.

I wouldn't go running out to buy a BMW 1000RR any time soon. One of my buddies here brought his back from the Dragon last week on a trailer. Catastrophic engine failure. Seems that his isn't an isolated incident either.

I like the looks of the bike with the exception of the tail and the rims. It seems like all the manufacturers have been chopping the tail off for a couple of years now. Your rear tire winds up sticking out alot further than your tail section. Then they put a mile long license plate bracket back there. I just like the tail sections and rims on the 04 thru 07 10R's much better. Where are you going to put your Power Commander after all.:tard:

I could see me owning one of these bad boys though. Wonder what it cost?
