bike stalls at 190km/h, sounds like its starving of fuel, checked plugs and coils all good, rave counter hunts,in nuetural it can go beyond 13000rpms but when riding only goes below 8000rpms, what can cause this?

I think that you have one small problem with your rpm limit. At all 12 models the limit is at 11600.
It is not possible to have 13000 rpm with factory cpu, even if you install a boneville box and PC.
It will remove your speed limit but not your rpm limit.
Regarding your problem I think that you have to check the fuel pump.

11600rpms only if u ve a digital counter, my zx gives 13000 rpms
it could be the counter screwing everthing up i had a car that failed from the tacho.i got a new one and fixed the problem as for checking the fuel presure you need an efi fuel presure gauge i think KZscott said it has to be 41psi but i can't remember the thread

Tried to post this on the other thread - but it won't let me :(

Heard of this happening on zx6's, where it is a dodgy sidestand switch. It vibrates or something at high revs causing the engine to cut out. Try a web search on this and you may find more info - not heard of this happening on the 12 though.

Lots of knowedgeable peeps on here though, so there may be some more theories forthcoming.

that's a good answer and ive seen this before with vibration worth checking:thumbup:

most just condemn the fuel pump but in 30 years of biking and driving ive never had one fail on me (few of the old style lift pumps have mind )
