1st off I'd like to mention I have a new bathroom digital scale, bad news is its $20 from Kmart  So not sure how accurate it is!

That being said:

Stepped on the scale and it shows me in clothes w/shoes @ 129.0

Me + Carbon wheel, bearings and 120/70 SC1 Supercorsa tire: 143.0

Me + OEM front, bearings with a 120/60 Pirelli Diablo tire: 147.5

So far an approximate loss of 4.5.

KEEP IN MIND I'M PRETTY SURE THE 120/60 TIRE IS LIGHTER THAN THE 120/70 SUPERCORSA...MAYBE BY AS MUCH AS 1/2 A POUND. Weights were mesured without spacers, rotors or rotor bolts.

Still wrenchin! Hopefully when I'm done with the rear I will have a total of 10 lbs less rotational mass

I'll post more numbers as I wrench this afternoon!

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!!

Waiting for the WD-40 to kick in, removing the stock rotor off the stock wheel, factory locktite and all

FACTORY WHEEL
Worn 180/55 supercorsa rear
No spacers
Sprocket, hub and bolts
Rotor and bolts weight

9 LBS less than the

BST Rear Carbon Wheel
Fresh 180/55 supercorsa rear
No spacers
Sprocket, hub and bolts
NO ROTOR or BOLTS (since they are still mounted on the OEMs waiting for removal).

So I will appoximate 8 lbs less.

12.5 lbs less WITH a heavier front tire AND a fresher rear tire! Could be closer to 13 lbs but either way you look at it:

WELL OVER THE 10 LBS MARK!!!!!!!!! WOOHOOOOOOOOO Man I'm STOKED!!!!

:? What kinda nightmares?

They are stronger than stock but they are used so I am taking somewhat of a chance. They're holding air so thats good

I'd like to ride em around the block tomorrow once i finish mounting them up, hopefully there won't be any issues. Really they will only have a few minutes of time on them (to and from the 9/10 plus the actual 9/10 itself).

Who knows, may line up w/a 600 or something first time and do a shakedown pass just to be safe.

No wheelies on my bike (besides the occaisional pow-pow in 1st or cresting a hill at 170  ) and I haven't hit a pothole yet even on the OEMs.

Only really looking to use these wheels under competition purposes. Street I'll still be using the OEMs. These wheels have seen about 5 years and 8k miles on the streets.

Iceman use them on his 214 mph n/a busa and DaveO use them on his 220 n/a busa, both at Maxton. Surely a lil 12 with a light rider trapping low 200s should be fine, right?

Fingers crossed

WHAT A NIGHTMARE! More sleep dep for me, not sure how I'm gonna drive the 16 hours to the 9/10 but I gotta do it :x

These wheels do not fit 100% on my bike. PARTIALLY due to my swingarm being tweaked (Hmm....that would explain the motor/swingarm bolts being scuffed when I bought the bike with less than 4k in MINT condition  ).

I am DONE buying USED. Took it to the shop (front is fine), rear wheel had to have a "custom" spacer (shorter than theirs, longer than the OEM (we're talking millimeters here). They even had to "grind" off part of the caliper so it wouldn't "drag" against the rotor. Gotta say thanks to Fast Lane for hooking it up last minute. The rear wheel now rolls "Straight" but it is offset a touch to the right. Chain is in line so I'm good. Ran it thru 4th gear redline, no probs. Pulled on the mechanic's Busa due to his wheelies. His busa pulls pretty good. "Stock" he claims, yea right.

Overall 2nd gear seems to skim the front a little more....which may mean I need to be careful on the 2nd gear nos application.....or just yank the front strap down real hard

Missed my 12/30 track day at Jennings but they are cool enough to push it out to 1/1...meaning I have no time to party w/the 9/10 guys but oh well, next time 8)

warp: the spacers are different, I may need some "custom" ones so that they "fit" on my swingarm. I bought them from Blais Cycles in S. FL, the 9/10 guys know that shop (but don't think highly of their tuning ablilities).

Shop had to grind away part of the caliper. Left spacers stays supposed to stay in. That is part of the problem. The distance from it to the left inside of the swringarm is causing it to have to sight a bit to the right. Now chainguard can't be mounted (and I have no heelguard...how safe!)

Their right sized spacer was too long for my bike, the oem ones are a bit too short. Fast lane was cool enough to "make it work" for me since I was leaving that DAY for the race. In hindsight I shoulda just ran stock and done it right when I got back, but I wanted to rip DEEZUHL's bike up so these wheels would have helped had they worked out ok).

They are 6" wide so they are the same size....we'll see how things work out. My plan this winter is get my bike sorted safety wise and reliability wise and mount a 2nd bottle to the bike ... I can't work on my bike w/out it becoming lighter or more hp ...

I'm aiming to run even with that 205 n/a that Sal ran on your bike. Less than 3 mph but you know how hard it is adding MPH like that....nevertheless I'll be going for it :)
