hey guys i am 17 and just bought a zx12r bored out and fast. i wanted to drag race but my dad road it and said heck no. my question is what would be a good bike to get? i will be racing the quarter mile and have to get a street bike just to race on the weekend. would a 636 be good or zx9? any help would be great.

Wow i see this poster and think holy crap i'm old.scott was rookie of the year in 07 and i was bike track champion there in 98 and i had already been racing for 12 years beforelots of kz dragbikes. most are the old school slick n bar setups. great bikes but slow in stock form
i started drag racing with my 12... hadnt raced anything before, just took it slow till i got used to it

well this is an anything goes class,dragbikes stretched with turbos or nitrous.929cc to 1400 swb.stretched no power adders.the wheely drags.anysize to 900cc swb.you could get in over a hundred runs on the weekend if your bike will take it.

...being from here (the "maritimes"), and what i hear about bike weekend, bring your fast bike and your big thirst for beer! Shane, you think that you have partied in the past? Some of the good old boys from around these parts have made drinking beer their 2nd love next to fast bikes. Its a "maritime tradition"...if they cant beat you in a straight line, they will out drink you!:rotflmao:

...so there is your winter project Scott. Make your bike or your old mans bike fast and up to the task to do battle against shane in hopes that he comes up for some passes. Feel free to put up a pic of shane and his 14 on a dart board on the wall to shoot darts at during your breaks in the garage, to give you added encouragement.:lol:
